Fall Folk Arts Workshops:
Hands-On Jewish Baking

Sunday December 4, 1:00 p.m

Congregation Kol Ami
1008 West Water Street, Elmira

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at baking? Come to the Jewish Baking Workshop, presented by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes and the Jewish Center and Federation of the Twin Tiers at Congregation Kol Ami on Sunday December 4 at 1pm. Learn how to bake babka with instruction from Suzanne Hesselson. The workshop welcomes all skill levels and is free and open to the public, but spaces are limited and reservations are required by Monday, November 28. Email [email protected] to reserve your space.
Our instructor, Suzanne Hesselson, organizes baking for the Jewish Food Festival held at Congregation Kol Ami each spring. We will learn from Suzanne about her experiences in the art of Jewish baking. For this interactive workshop, participants are asked to bring a recipe, a cookbook, or an object from their own kitchens that have special meaning in their lives. While the bread is baking, we will swap recipes and share stories. Contribute your story to the Folk Arts Program’sarchive of culinary cultures and traditions.
